Black seed, or nigella sativa, is a flowering spice plant whose aromatic black seeds contain valuable oil.


Black cumin oil has become popular among beauty care enthusiasts, and no wonder it has been used to treat beauty since the time of Cleopatra. Oil is believed to have been important in maintaining her legendary beauty.


Black seed oil contains, among other things, linoleic acid (omega-6) and a special essential oil called thymoquinone. The seeds also contain, e.g., palmitic, palmitoleic, stearic, and oleic acids, B group vitamins, calcium, iron, copper, zinc, and phosphorus. This rich oil can be used internally as a cooking oil and spice.


Black seed oil can be used, for example, as cooking oil or in drinks or salads, or you can take two teaspoons of oil a couple of hours before a meal on an empty stomach. The taste of the oil is mild but slightly peppery and bitter.

Do not heat the oil because the heat destroys the sensitive fatty acids in the oil.

Black cumin oil is not recommended for use during pregnancy.


When used externally, black cumin oil nourishes, moisturizes, and protects the skin. The oil is recommended to be used especially for treating dry, irritated, and allergy-prone skin. The effects of black gum are both nourishing and protective. Therefore, it is also particularly suitable for acne and psoriatic skin.


DOSAGE: 1-3 teaspoons (5-15 ml) per day. Use as is, mixed into drinks, or as a salad dressing. The recommended daily dose must not be exceeded. A nutritional supplement does not replace a varied and balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Not in the reach of children


Storage: Store closed and protected from light in a cool and dry place. Once opened, store in the refrigerator and use within 30 days of opening.
